Manufacturer's Description

This Sony entry level mono microphone is an ideal first mic. This uni-directional mic is for use with vocals only and comes with a 3 metre-long cable and an additional adaptor. The adaptor enables you to plug the mic into a traditional amplifier or even into the back of your stereo. It also has a control panel with an on/off switch.

This is a lightweight unit so it's easy to use and comfortable for younger users.

Sony FV-120: Not bad for the price3
The FV-120 is a cheap vocal microphone good for a beginner to amplified singing. It has a handy 3 metre long cord and couldn't be more simple to use. One thing that struck me was how light it was, which makes it feel more of a toy than a real microphone. The design is fairly standard, quite dull really. The reason I chose it over the 'Hama' was the fact that I was more familiar with Sony, and it arrived much, much quicker. It comes with an adaptor so that a regular amp will take it. Mine's plugged into the back of the stereo. Not bad but certainly not one for the serious. Plus when you add postage and packaging you can get it cheaper in the shops.

SONY FV-120 Uni Dynamic Microphone5
It's a good microphone as it looks great & it is light weight compared to the Shure PG48 or the JHS microphone.

One problem that dissapointed me with Sony is that it picksup superbly clear BUT! I found it only did this for a few days then once it passed it starts to become very muffled & unclear like those cheap poundshop microphones but all round it's ok!

Value for money(?)4
Let's face it, 10 pounds is very cheap for a microphone and it is brilliant if you're not wanting to be professional in whatever you're using it for. I find the mesh on top is always falling off and the edges of that mesh are rather sharp. Get it if you're doing singing just for fun.
