Jeff Waynes The War of The Worlds 30th Anniversary Edition [DVD]
Having been a fan of the Musical since it's first release in the late 70's and then the CD in the 80's I had always wanted to see a live stage version of this.
When it was announced that Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds was to go on the road I wondered how they would pull it off.
I must admit I rushed to buy tickets and waited in anticipation for the night of the stage show.
Well the night came and I have to admit that I was not disappointed. The show was a complete success. Well done to everyone involved.

The DVD of the show does not disappoint either. The complete show is included along with many interviews with Jeff Wayne and members of the cast.
There are several audio selections including 5.1 surround sound.

The 30th anniversary edition of the DVD includes the war of the worlds novel and art card and promo flyer.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves the musical and has not been able to go along to a live show or to anyone who loves good music.

Oh yeah and......... what a great price.

I have been a fan of Jeff Wayne's "The War of The Worlds" since it was first released in the 70's, I remember listening to the album on my fathers sony record player, listening through Hi Fi headphones, I remember the red weed theme sending shivers down my spine ! As technology moved on I had the cassette tape then the CD, I am a proud owner to the ultimate collection of discs and art work that was released a few years ago, I am not a real fan of the remixed tracks, but all the same it is a collectors piece of work. I was lucky enough to get tickets for the O2 London show Xmas 2007, the music fell into place and the show was absolutely jaw dropping fantastic. This years show will be the same if not better with a different cast, Jennifer Ellison I believe is performing, if you can't make the show, then this is an excellent substitute, a real class act

Just like the show in the theatre, Superb
This dvd set is magnificent. Everybody knows the audio cd (which by the way I can sum up word by word), but this is the real stuff. Just like the show I watched last year, this dvd set is a true reflection of this show.

And the extra dvd, it is worth the money. You pay a little extra, but will receiving tons of extra's in return.


To sum up: a great show and a great performance.
