Customer Reviews

Does exactly what it says on the tin...3
Absolute proof that you get what you pay for.
Construction? Rudimentary - in a Soviet kind of way.
Utility? But it does work - really.

The finish is becoming legendary, with the trimming cristicised most heavily. Your own supplemntary foam to grip the condenser shell is a must.
This is a very generic product. Be careful to check the dimensions of your mic before buying or much cobbling together will be done if like me you manage to park an MXL 990 inside it.
In use the unit is suited to upright or upturned suspension of the mic, it is solid and once located, retains the mic confidently. First session on trial, the unit was in place for two working hours without the need for adjustment.

Best seen as a lead-in purchase, spare or mobile soultion. No one who buys will feel they have wasted their money, though I reckon few who do will make the same selection twice.

It's ultimately like comparing Space Shuttle with Soyuz, one is expensively designed....and the other one works !

Cheap and cheerless2
Unless you are careful, this will scratch the surface of your mike, and if that's a Neumann or any good quality mike, it would reduce its value if ever you came to sell it on. Previous reviewer is right - the elastic is hopelessly wrong for the device.

However, it isn't THAT bad, and proves what a complete rip-off the "official" Neumann suspension mounts are. This is clearly a copy of the Neumann product, which sells in the UK at well over £100.

Not overly impressed2
As the saying goes "you get what you pay for". Item looks cheap and nasty; a bit of fluffy material glued around most of the spring-loaded mic holder stops the mic getting damaged; the anti-vibe material is some cheap bit of plastic. I replaced the mounts with rubber-bands and replaced the "fluffy stuff with some decent felt. Still looks nasty but at least it now works.
