Very well laid out and easy to follow
Bought this for my son to help him revise. I have noticed improved grades in his school tests already.

David Rayner gcse maths
Hello im a year 9 pupil and recently bought this book.(beginning of acedemic year/september. At school as im in the top set we are doing gcse maths so i decided to buy this book. AT the end of year 8 i achevied a level 6a which wasnt that good. we done a test around a month ago and got my report yesterday. i achieved a level 7a at the beginning of year 9. my ks3 target was 7b so ive beaten it already.

i would like to reccomend this book to gcse students but also year 9's who are aiming for lvl 7 or 8. The book gives a clear explanation and some worked through questions just like having a teacher!

There are soo many exercises and this really does compliment the idea that practise makes perfect. Each exercise is graded by either having a c or e next to it. if the exercise has D next to it, it means that it is a grade D-B question. if the exercise has E next to it, it means that it is a grade A-A*.

Dont work through the book because there are too many pages (600 ono)and you wont cover what you need to learn. i reccomend using the book has extension class homework. go over what youve done in class and even go onto more difficult questions. i will make you sound good and your teacher will respect you!

BUY THIS BOOK

Great for info but not enough questions to test knowledge
This text is well laid out but not always easy to follow needing some input (from an adult) as prior knowledge is sometimes assumed. There are not enough questions to practice what is learnt. Overall great for info but not great for revising as lots of practice is needed to re-inforce and truly revise. I will be looking into the accompanying workbook, hopefully should fill the gap.
