Sometimes a life without Indian rules isn't all it's cracked up to be. Marina's parents have allowed her to make her own way, forge her own career and choose her own husband. Life is full of possibilities. So why is she working as a humble sandwich-filler in a shabby Oxfordshire town? Finding herself a rich and handsome husband hasn't been as easy as she'd thought. When Marina sets eyes on gorgeous hotel owner Thomas Harding, she knows her search is at an end. But there are one or two obstacles to overcome. Her buxom, blonde flatmate for a start. Not to mention Thomas's fiancee, the beautiful yet fragile Nicole. Then there's Thomas himself. How can a loud-mouthed Indian girl from the wrong side of the tracks hope to capture his heart? Luckily Marina believes in miracles. She's certainly going to need one to seduce Thomas. If only she could find some way to improve her karma, she might just be in with a chance.

About the Author
In her early thirties, Nisha Minhas lives in Milton Keynes with her partner and cats. A former employee of the Inland Revenue and an avid reader, Nisha couldn't find any novels that really appealed to her, a young woman born in the UK of Indian parents. So she bravely left her job, determined to write the book that she herself would love to read. The result was Nisha's first novel: the hilarious CHAPATTI OR CHIPS?
Customer Reviews
WOW!!!
I've been waiting six months for this book. My expectations were high after her last two novels. So I bought it, read it in two days flat, thought it was brilliant, funny, topical, what you expect from a Nisha Minhas book, and now boo hoo I have to wait until her next book comes out. Do not miss out on this wonderful read. I cannot recommend it enough.
Hilarious
Both my wife (of Asian origin) and myself (Anglo-Saxon) thoroughly enjoyed this book. A very rare event indeed for our differing tastes to collide thus. We shall be reading more of this author. Very catchy and witty. A touch stereotypical in a perceptive sort of way, The writer is very good at laughing at herself and others and accurately and humourously portrays the idiosyncracies of the differing cultures and classes she describes.
