Customer Reviews
Remarkable Range
I am not prone to writing reviews unless the book in question is either remarkably poor or spectacularly good, this book is the latter.
A superb collection of curries (and by curry I mean anything with some combination of Indian spices) from across the width and breadth of India. If this is the one book on Indian cuisine that you buy you will not be disappointed.
Pros:
Excellent vegetarian options
Excellent instructions: I have cooked 30+ recipes without fail
Something for everyone.
Good portion estimates.
Good education in strategy and description of each stage within a recipe.
Excellent individual recipes and combination recommendations.
Excellent collection of home recipes and associated anecdotes.
Cons:
No estimated cooking time.
Buy it.
What is a curry?
You may question the author's definition of a curry but you cannot criticise the range of the dishes on offer in this book and the research that has gone into it. This is a superb book for people interested in Indian Cuisine and all the recipes I have cooked from it have turned out brilliantly. Prepare to enjoy your food more as you cook from this book!
