Way too big for a study wall
I wanted a munro map that I could stare at in my home study and dream of mountains rather than what ever the more pressing task. Unfortunately the sheer size of this map means that it is way too big to fit into a normal-sized study which is already full of book shelves, monitors etc. It is also not laminated which means it does not sit nicely on the wall. I was less bothered about all the extra information that is on the map also. So all in all it may suit some but not me.
A Great Map for the Wall
Of all the various Munro Maps that are out there on the market, this one has to be the best. Not only does it clearly show all the Munros, Tops and interconnecting ridges, but all the Corbetts are there to boot. The map colours are good too: with relief shown in subtle brown shadings (it works for me, anyway). As if that wasn't enough, there's also superbly clear area codes (in colour), bothies, hostels (both independent and YHA) and even full listings of declassified Munros for the purist. The hills are also listed below the map, with circles and boxes for all those ticks (entirely optional, mind you). Whether you are a seriously afflicted bagger, or if you just want a decent map of Scotland with all the big hills on it, then this is for you.
