MEMORY MAP FANTASTIC
You can guess from the title that I'm a big fan of Memory Map products. They are easy to install and I now use them on both a home desk PC and when out and about in a little Toshiba N200 netbook. The Snowdonia coverage gives you a lot of mapping for the money. The only downside is the aerial photography which is not as good as a typical session on Google Earth. Using the Netbook connected to a simple Garmin Etrex in the car gives a real time moving map display of exactly where you are: much more informative than the usual car Satnav displays! The ability to use 3D fly through before trying a walk or bike ride is very useful for judging how hard the climbs might be. The drawing of routes on the Memory Map screen and then loading into the Etrex is simple and has proved invaluable when the mist has come down. A great product and easy to use.
