useful reference book, to be taken on walks
Obviously great care has to be taken when using the walks recommended in this book. Mountain walking boots are essential for nearly all the walks. He takes the reader to remote and difficult places, with dangers of heat exposure in hot weather. His walks at other times need the same protection against wet and cold that would be needed in more northerly mountains. Some of his walks are in areas where new roads are being developed, and others are in areas of occasional landslip. His written descriptions are good. His maps are good. It would be wise to supplement these with 1:50 000 military maps if these are obtainable. These are serious walks for the serious mountain walker.
