10-4 buddy
I first came across this album some time ago after buying some of the 12-inch releases on good looking records. It will instantly appeal to anyone who has fallen asleep to the sounds of logical progression after a heavy night. You'll also dig this if you've ever enjoyed the sounds of LTJ Bukem's Journey inwards in a hazey slumber on a summer's afternoon. There is a certain vibe that emenates from this album that can't be explained. A sweet, intoxicating blend of floaty drum and bass that skips along nicely on its solid foundations and avoids offending even the most discernaible of listeners. Big Bud has a high degree of production clarity and the experienced ability to evoke a very sensual and ethereal vibe. Some may say that this album has become depreciated and that the the musical strucutre it was part of is now cumbling. But one listen will confirm that the content is very special. Each track is timelessly representative of its genre and features all the greatest hallmarks of the 'good looking' monopoly. 'High times' is a seminally spaced out track with a moody beat that keeps a decent pace. Even though this is perhaps the most dettached tune on the album, it keeps its place nicley and contrasts against the surreal beauty of 'chill'. Probably once of the best albums to come out of 'Good-looking records'. A vital piece of history to any fan.
Bliss.
outstanding cd
Big bud's 1st album is a great collection of chilled out D&B, as you would expect from good looking records, but, worth the price alone, are the last 2 tracks - 'ellens song' and 'stone groove'. 2 Incredibly atmospheric and blissful jazzy masterpieces. Different to the rest of the CD, they're a perfect closure to a brilliant album. Stuff you can really lose yourself in.
The best good looking release ever!!!!
This must be one of the greatest mellow D n B albums around, with tunes that carry you away to another realm of serenity and magic. Every tune is perfect combination of keyboards and strong and original beats. Also this album stands the test of time with the obvious tunes like darker than blue, which starts off the album and pulls you into another world, and indian summer but the more u listen to the album the better it gets. One of my top CDs ever. I only wish I could give it 6 stars!!
