Ben Taylor 5
Like a lot of people, I'm a huge fan of JT, so took instant interest in his son. Ben doesn't sound exactly like his dad (there's a bit of Carly in there too), nor are his songs exactly like his dad's - put simply this is BT, not JT. But if you love JT, I think you'll at least like BT.

BT is generally more mellow and understated than his old man, at least on this album. It's good to chill out with. The nearest comparison I can think of is Jack Johnson.

Original and compelling5
This is a treat for anybody disappointed by the likes of Jack Johnson or Findlay Brown, whose albums sound nice but are otherwise totally forgettable.
Ben Taylor also sounds 'nice', but there's a much greater depth to his music that means you will keep on coming back and finding new things in it.
It's a very original and imaginative album. The tunes and arrangements are pretty much all catchy and interesting and unexpected. There are little musical 'treats' hidden around the songs that you'll look forward to every time, and the whole album satisfies.
Central to this is Ben's smooth voice and clever way with lyrics, and extremely attractive production.
It's all so good, I can only imagine Ben Taylor will be around for some time to come.

Ben Taylor is THE Man5
Flicking through radio stations I came across this soulfully smooth voice that of Ben Taylor and I was hooked. This album is definately not a disappointment, very easy to listen to and literally put it on once and your guaranteed to have it on repeat for days after. It's along the lines of Jack Johnson and Amos Lee, if you're a fan of those two Ben will win you over. His voice flows effortlessly throughtout the album, with great backing harmonies. Although "Nothing I can do" was the first released single in the UK it was his song "Digest" which really hooked me. Each song is unique, it is not one of those albums you feel all the songs sound the same. Easy album to chill too perhaps with a nice glass of wine. I am sure this guy will be huge by this time next year.
