Customer Reviews
This is not the best of Kelis
Kelis has released 4 brilliant albums but the singles have been a bit of a mess. on "Kaleidoscope" she didn't release the best tracks although "Caught Out There" was a hit. on "Wanderland" they only managed 1 single "Young Fresh N New"- how is it that you have a brilliant album and only 1 single gets released. Then came "Tasty", this was more of a hit zone as she got "Milkshake" & "Trick Me" in high charting positions and surprisigly "Millionaire" got in the chart (I can't believe they chose this over "Keep It Down"). "Kelis Was Here" is much less pop and therefore "Bossy" was a bit of a flop but then "Lil' Star" got released (I was wrong in my single judgement cause this was a big hit) and it grew on me although I hate the Gnarles Barkley guy's voice. Where were the other singles?
So basically from what I wrote above you can tell the singles were a mess and looking at the tracklist I'm really worried that people will be buying this thinking they're getting her best tracks...wrong! It's nice that N.E.R.D's "Truth Or Dare" is on there but what is "Suspended" on there for, it wasn't even a single and isn't an album highlight.
You can probably get all the 4 albums really cheap and I would really really strongly advise you to get them opposed to this greatest hits as there seems to be no new tracks. I felt the same about Jamelia's greatest hits, that was an awful tracklist. But if you're not a hardcore Kelis fan and you just want the well known tracks then go for it! But this is not the best of her in my opinion so I'd recommend getting the albums.
An Excellent Collection of Hits
Despite it seeming that Kelis only began her career a few years ago, it has actually been almost ten years since she released her first single "Caught Out There". The success of her debut was continued with various other releases, up until her latest, "Lil Star" in 2007.
The sassy and sexy singer, who is married to rapper Nas has been responsible for some of the biggest hits of the past few years, including the massively successful "Milkshake" which was included on the Mean Girls soundtrack and "Trick Me", as well as "Millionaire", which also featured André 3000 of Outkast.
This collection of her greatest hits comprises the best songs from her four studio albums "Kaleidoscope", "Wanderland", "Tasty" and "Kelis Was Here". The hits featured include "Caught Out There", "Milkshake", "Trick Me", "Millionaire", "Bossy" and "Lil Star" and are well worth a listen, showcasing a true musical talent.
