This is brilliant. The remix is even better than the original album track.

Melua goes Pop with great success!
Katie Melua goes into the middle of mainstream pop for the first time with this uptempo number, but it is more than just a pop song.

Hats off to Mike Batt who took songwriting duties with a composition that suits Melua's vocals perfectly, proving she can do pop as well as well as she can perform soft jazz and blues.

Melua's voice has become more assured with time, but not lost is her trademark subtlety and emotionally charged vulnerability which is magnified when set against the strong anthemic structure of the song that goes straight into the chorus that has all the chanting, foot-tapping simplicity and effectiveness of an instant classic for audiences to sing along to.

This is a love song with a difference with clever lyrics. If the world should end and if the lights go out she'll go down with you. Take that whatever way you like.

This single is a remixed version of a track from Melua's album, Pictures, which I strongly recommend. Five stars.
