WOW!!!
This is the word that sprang to mind when I finished this book - the cover says - inspire, liberate, achieve - Tom succeeds on all fronts with this book.

Now I'm not some smarty-pants management guru who's seen and read it all before. To my eyes this is new and fresh. The book is full of cool eye catching and attention grabbing illustrations and messages. It's really hard to fall asleep while reading Tom!

Tom's message is not for the conservative middle management plodder or her boss - Tom is delivering a message that maybe not everyone has the capacity to grasp and a message that will make some people squirm - and so it should! Leadership maybe is about going-for-it and not just the bottom line - I agree with him and hey, I trained as an accountant.

Leadership is innovation, leadership is new ideas, leadership is liberation, leadership is achievement!

A Classic
This is one of four, pocket, DK guides to the essentials by Tom Peters, culled from a larger book. This is not my favourite of the four, but is still head and shoulders above most other business manuals. It's short, snappy and informative. It has great design and layout, making it easy to speed read, dip into, or read from cover to cover. Even reading it straight through is not going to take more than about an hour of your life. Having said that, the ideas he puts forward will keep you thinking for weeks afterwards. What is leadership? Why is it so important? How do we become influential leaders? All good questions in this competitive, driven world, all good answers courtesy of Mr Peters.
