Excellent guide to a fine city
As with all DK guides, this guide to Cracow is generally accurate, liberally strewn with wonderful maps and photographs, an excellent practical guide to the main sights, hotels, restaurants and many other features of life in this vibrant yet historic Polish city. It has much to recommend it and little to criticise, though if I had to be critical the nightlife section is somewhat lacking - there are many central bars and clubs not mentioned, possibly sprouting quicker than the publishers can cope with. It was also a struggle to fit it in my camera bag, but I can't blame anyone for that!
That apart, a fine guide. Read and enjoy.
DK Crakow
An excellent guide book to Crakow (as are all the DK books). I explored every inch of Crakow using this book and read it from cover to cover.
Cracoe Explored
I have purchased a DK Eyewitness Travel guide each time I've planned a visit to a European city, and have never been disappointed with the purchase. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone travelling to Cracow (Krakow). It has up to date information on costs and routes of trams, buses and taxis, and detailed information on the various districts you might visit, with 3D maps and exploded views of important landmarks. I read the book before I travelled, carried it with me (although it won't fit into any normal sized pocket) throughout my visit, and then read through it again when I got home. The detailed maps alone are worth the money, and you certainly couldn't find a more comprehensive guide to Cracow. When I was eating out and I wanted to know my Bigos from my Pierogi then it was good to have this cracking little book in my camera bag.
