Editorial Reviews

CD Description
JUST BE FREE consists of a previously unreleased batch of recordings made by a (very) young Christina Aguilera in her pre-fame years. These songs, made when the singer was 14-15 and just dipping her toe into the music business for the first time, feature the teen siren backed exclusively by the synths and drum machines of producers Bob Allecca and Michael Brown. Though the CD booklet bears a strong disclaimer from Aguilera, stating that she's not particularly proud of these recordings or pleased to see them released, there's really nothing for her to be ashamed of here. Despite a somewhat thin-sounding, demo-like quality to the production, Aguilera's voice is pretty as much as strong as on her later hit recordings, and the dance-pop material is not far afield from the sort of sound she'd tackle a few years down the line. If you're an Aguilera fan, there's no reason to think you'd be disappointed by JUST BE FREE.

When i bought this CD, i was unaware that Christina herself did not want people to buy it. If i had of known i wouldn't have bought it.
The CD itself is okay. Christina's voice is just as fabulous as ever but the style is much unlike her and it reflects the type of music that was around during this era. It is nothing compared to "Stripped" but as i said Christina sounds great and there are a few good songs, such as "Believe Me" and my personal favourite "Dream A Dream".

Diehard fans like myself will like it. Christina shouldn't be too ashamed of this it was ecceptional for a girl of 14 and 15 to produce. well done chris!

absolutely brilliant5
when i first listened to this cd, i must admit i was a bit surprised to hear the difference between this and christina`s first cd, what a total change, thats not to say i did`nt enjoy it.there are two track`s that i was`nt too keen on but the rest of the cd was absolutely brilliant.it`s one of those cd`s that ,when you first listen to it you`r not sure of, but after that you cant stop listening to over and over again.as always christina`s voice is outstanding, a real must for any christina aguilera fan.
