Medinose uses photo therapy to get rid of allergic symptoms that you may get from hay fever, animal hair or house dust. Photo therapy is a method for treating allergic reactions. It uses an innovative visible red light that acts on the cellular metabolism, slowing down the immune reaction and reducing inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes. The light causes the reduction in allergic reactions and symptoms. Medinose uses this technology in a hand held format which is consumer friendly and easy to use.

A double blind, placebo controlled trial was conducted to assess the effectiveness of Medinose. Following treatment, 72% of allergic rhinitis patients reported a reduction in symptoms and an improvement in their overall condition, compared to only 24% in the placebo group. Patients also received a nasendoscopy (examination of nasal tissue using an endoscope), which further supports the results by showing a significant reduction in nasal tissue inflammation after treatment.

Works a treat!
I decided to buy this machine after reading the good reviews here and basically being fed up with having to buy packs of tablets each summer!

I have been pleasantly surprised. The unit is easy to operate and works! Yes, when using the unit my nose did seem to run a little more than normal but that is bearable when you consider that I have been using the unit for a few weeks now and have not needed to take a single hayfever tablet.

Basically you need to insert the diodes into your nostrils, switch on and leave there for 4.5 minutes. During this time your nose will glow red!
After the 4.5 minutes the machine will give an auditory signal and shut itself off. You are then done. All you need to do is put aside 4.5 minutes three times a day - it's as simple as that.

The machine is a nice size and even fits into a handbag if you need to carry it around with you or even a desk drawer (no, I have not used it at work yet .... my colleagues would find the "red nose" way too amusing!)

I did accidently forget to use the machine for a couple of days and I knew about it straight away - the old hayfever symptoms returned. As soon as I started using the machine again they disappeared and have stayed away with daily use of the machine.

I am so happy to be free of hayfever tablets as this is a great non-drug way to alleviate the misery of hayfever.

No luck with this treatment for me.
I have suffered badly with this sort of nasal allergy for many years, and after trying all variations of treatment from my doctor out of desperation I throught I would give this a try.

Unfortunately, after couple of weeks of intense treatment I have have enjoyed no benefit at all and it looks as though I will have to mark this one down as a failure for my particular condition at least.

The unit is well built and works exactly as described - it looks and feels like a good product, but for me it obviously isn't a miracle cure.

I'm pleased (jealous!) that others seem to be getting some benefit anyway!

Hi, a big Thank You to the person(s) who invented and designed this product!
I bought it mainly for my daughter, who had an allergy to dust mites. She was sneezing every single day, runny nose, even started to complain about her vision (because of the allergy, she always complained about having something in her eyes).
All I can say is that after 2 weeks she is much much better, not completelly cured by way better. We take a break now and we'll start again for another 2 weeks. I can see she is not so sensible as she used to be (to dust mites), her annoing 10 in a row sneezings are completely gone, and she's not complaining about her eyes any more. She just sneeze once in a while, seldom.
Interesting fact is that while she was using it (when the diodes were in her nose) her nose was running, she was sneezing 10 times in a row, even if before she was completelly well. I was thinking that this is a normal reaction and I urged her to keep using it, and I was right.
I even used it on my son, who had a runny nose all the time and now is sleeping well, he doesn't need napkins any more , I was worried because he was in the nursery all day with the nose always running. Now everything is fine, I congratulate mself for buying and finding such an wonderful product!
