Indispensable
Essential for any travel in France. I have been using the "Red" Guide for over 30 years and it has rarely let me down. Ratings for both hotels and restaurants are invariably accurate and the book contains a wealth of information. There is no better guide.

Authoritative
I consider that I know France well since I have lived there , now own a property there and make very frequent visits. Yet how can you know an area you have never visited? And how can you tell whether "an establishment" is at least OK or better without trying it yourself? If we are on a short visit to a new place, or are hopping from place to place,we just want to have a decent probability of having a decent hotel or meal with no hassle in our limited time available. This Guide gives us just that. Instead of searching around on arrival , or taking a chance on the Web, or ploughing through leaflets from a Tourist Office, we now make choices from Michelin. So far, all have been good outcomes! And it's quick and easy too.The Guide is good value and it's nice to be part of something that's got such a history (read the Introduction to the Guide)

Invaluable holiday reference
Couldn't exist without this extremely helpful guide- we go to France several times each year. It is useful to have the English version of Michelin, as our mastery of French is somewhat limited, though we can and have got by with the French version.
