The books three authors, partners in and Anglo-Portuguese law firm PACSA and Cameira, have covered a lot of ground clearly and in plain English. Part one of the book deals with living and working in Portugal. Its explains all the bureaucratic procedures newcomers are likely to face, including obtaining residence cards, driving licenses and vehicle documentation. It also covers banking, health, education, employment and taxation. In part two, on buying real estate, the authros note that conveyancing is substantially more complex in Portugal than in common law jurisdictions. However, they set out all the legal formalities for purchase and sale in a straightforward and easy to follow manner".
