Product Description

This film is presented by Soldier I, best selling author who took part in the Iranian Embassy hostage rescue. Known to his colleagues in the regiment as "Snapper", the narrator tells both of his own eighteen years of service and gives an authorative account of many other SAS operations. Some of these actions have never been disclosed on DVD before. Covering much more than the familiar Palace Gate action, this film contains operational footage from the Falklands, the Peterhead Prison rescue, Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Columbia, Borneo, Mirbat, Malaya, Libyan Embassy, Iraq and Jebel Akhdar. As well as an informative commentary by "Snapper", this DVD also features veterans of previous SAS campaigns, and has an interview with Andy McNab, who tells the story of his capture and incarceration. INCLUDES OPERATIONAL FOOTAGE NOT SEEN BEFORE & EXCLUSIVE SCENES OF THE IRANIAN EMBASSY STORMING, FILMED FROM COVERT SPECIAL FORCES CAMERAS

Interesting but its not going to tell you everything3
As a bit of an amateur military historian, I was already aware of the background to the SAS. We will never know the 'nuts and bolts' and nor should we of The Regiment. This is part unseen footage ie Princes Gate and BBC news footage and MOD with Snapper as one of the voiceovers.

Some nice bits in Oman, the jungles and the Gulf.

Snapper provides a great commentary throughout and the Princes Gate stuff is recounted in detail.

A great DVD following the history of the worlds best special forces, the SAS. Fascinating information, in a well presented format is what makes it great. Although the price is somewhat off-putting, it is well worth it.
