Well written and detailed book on good haircare practice4
After much hair care problems from applying chemicals to my hair, I was after a book that we should show me where I was going wrong. This book was the answer!! The author sets out to deal with the those old wives tales which have been a cause of black women ruining their hair. She clearly explains our hair structure and what we need to do to encourage growing and healthy hair. She does this by going from the basics of moisturizing to washing and conditioning to how to decide whether your stylists is really good. This book makes a good present for anyone who wants to take better care of their hair.

The Black Woman's Guide to Beautiful Hair3
Before reading this book i was looking for something that would advice me, on not only maintaining my hair but also keeping it very healthy in a way that it would be under my control as i decicded to go natural. The good news it that i did find the book helpful as she spoke about ways to care for the hair and look after the scalp also , but i didnt feel it was detailed enough for me. Of course i wasnt looking for specific brands that were good for the hair but i was expecting a liltle guidance in that area which i fell she failed to deliver, however i feel that, thats the only aspect that let me down. She did go through the basics and step by step ways in looking after the hair both natural and relaxed, also touching on issue on salons on good hair dressers which was interesting as some issues never really crossed my mind.
However if you as a person is looking to go natural and looking for certain products and a process to go with those products this book my not be enough i would advice the book Going natural by Mieelle A Kong (and no im not working for her) as her book really helped me in search of products such as naturals oils and home made remedies that i hav found very useful and effective for my hair she also goes through the process of hair care for natural hair which sort of makes it a two in one.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!4
This book clears away the myths surrounding black womens hair. Whether your hair is natural or chemically processed, it will improve your hair. I have followed her advice for the last few weeks and already my hair is much improved.
