cooking up a storm
This is quite an enjoyable game, but has a couple of unfortunate problems with "game play".
Firstly, it becomes repetative, so much so that it is a "game" you CAN put down.
Secondly, some of the cooking requirements - like peeling - have caused some problems, even the manual doesn't help with them, nor does the practice section of the game. It could have done with now move the peeler slowly down the vegetable instruction on the screen. Only trial and very annoying error solved some of these moves.
It's a good game if you have only a few minutes to spare, but if you are looking for something to pass the time in hospital, or travelling over long distances, then I would suggest that you take more games with you as this won't help you pass the time. Take it from me - I've tried on one of my many visits to hospital and the most I've lasted is 17 minutes before I became very bored with it.
a pick up anytime distraction
This game is great. When i got it i didnt know if it would be a bit childish but it really isnt. Some of the things you have to do are really challenging and you find yourself playing again and again determined to beat a previous score. There are loads of different dishes to make and you get a rating of bronze silver or gold on each one. It has lots of playing value trying to get the best you can. I would definitely recommend this game if you like to just pick a game up and play it without having to get really involved.
Cooking Mama
I bought this game of ebay simply because i wanted something different to play on my ds.I read a few reviews and thought id give it a try.Cooking mama is mainly a cooking game hence the name.basicly you have to prepare meals in a set amount of time to please mama and once completed you unlock new recipies.they varie in difficulty so theres some thing for everyone.you have to chop veg and arange the plates and grate cheese using the stylus.i have played it a good few times and think its great for its money.my 26 year old fiance loves it and i find myself having to grab it when hes asleep just to have a go on it.well worth it if you want something like no other!
