About the Author
Vic Parker read English at Oxford and worked in children's publishing for six years before becoming a freelance author and editor. She has written books for children and teenagers, and is published by Chysalis and Franklin Watts amongst others. Vic knows about young people as she teaches dance and fitness classes in her spare time.

Perfect book for the younger girl!
My daughter had just turned 10 and was having the school nurse come to give a talk about puberty. I had this book at home as a follow up and it was fantastic. The whole feel of the book attracts the younger girl, lovely illustrations and very funky looking too. The wording is spot on - not too scarey or advanced. I wish I had had a book like this thirty years ago. Seriously any mum should order this book if they are in the least bit worried about having 'the talk' - it WILL help!!

What a Great Book
I bought this book for my daughter, aged 11, and this is what she thought. "I thought it was a really great book with brilliant illustrations. It was easy to read and understand and it gave you some tasks to see how much you knew. It was extremely helpful and covered several subjects on growing up not just periods. It told you how to deal with boys, how to cope with spots and mood swings and how to stay friends with your family and friends whilst growing up. Spectacular"

Every Mum and Daughter Need this!!
When I discovered one of my daughter's friends had started, I thought 'I'll have to get sorted'. I tried my GP's surgery, the health visitor, the family planning clinic to mention but a few and all the literature was for teenagers. My daughter is nine. Then I stumbled upon this book. It is fantastic. I read it myself before passing it on to my daughter. This really is super in that the language is at their level and it helps promote a healthy mental attitude towards puberty and all the stuff that comes with it. I have recommended it to many other mums, who totally agree. SO, TO ALL MUMS WITH GROWING DAUGHTERS ... THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!
