Product Description

Morganville. Texas. Just south of normal. In the college town of Morganville, vampires and humans coexist in (relatively) bloodless harmony. Then comes Bishop, a master vampire who threatens to abolish all order, revive the forces of the evil dead, and let chaos rule. But Bishop isn't the only threat. Violent black clouds promise a storm of devastating proportions. As student Claire Danvers and her friends prepare to defend Morganville against the elements - both natural and unnatural - the unexpected happens: Morganville's vampires begin to vanish one by one. Discovering why leads Claire to one last choice: swear allegiance to Bishop...or die.

The town of Morganville has seen better days since the return of Bishop, a master vampire who wants control of the town. His daughter, Amelie, isn't going to relinquish her power easily.

Now everyone's choosing sides and waiting for the battle to begin. Those who have chosen now have their battle assignments. Claire must find Myrnin, Shane must guard the blood bank, Michael protects the college students, and Eve needs to head back to the coffee shop and to Oliver.

In a fight this big, there's bound to be infighting and backstabbing. Soon the humans in town aren't sitting on the sidelines anymore. Those who were once protected can no longer count on the vampire alliance to protect them.

Claire and her friends are doing everything they can to save the town, but they seem to be the key to the fight. Are they about to be double-crossed themselves?

LORD OF MISRULE is the 5th book in the very popular THE MORGANVILLE VAMPIRES series. While vampire books are flooding the market, this series stands out because of its differences. The vampires in the series are not friendly, they are out for your blood and only something benefiting them will stop them from drinking.

Suspense and horror alongside of friendship and romance make this series perfect and unforgettable.

I was surprised.4
*SPOILERS ALERT - i dont tell you the end or anything specific but i dont want people complaining, there is light mention of the charcters*

After reading the first four novels in this series I was practially vibrating with excitement about reading this next one.
Some advice before I start this review - if you havent read the first four novels in this series (which are really good reads) you won't understand a damn thing that happens in book 5 so rewind and go take a look at 'Glass Houses'.

There where ups and downs to the books in my oppinion, In the beginning we begin where we left off with Shane going off to the blood mobile, Eve going to 'Common Grounds', Michael heading off to the University and finally Claire tagging in with Amelie to save our lovley Myrinn.
You're thrown straight into action but i personally felt like all of the action was pretty anti-climatic. It seemed like they where going to do something amazing... but it didnt quiet happen and it was all solved quickly. We where also introduced to a new Charcter called 'Hannah' who is important for a couple of chapters but then is completley discarded and you dont know what the hell happened to her. The same with Granma Day - you think she's going to add something to the plot but.. she ends up arriving, making sandwiches... and disapearing. Oh, and the addition to a vampire family who flits into the story throughout but never really does anything.

I felt overall that this book was all a little to prolonged... it dragged a little. To be honest, it seems as though they just wanted us to buy another book so watered the plot out a tad. Everything that happens in the what, 300 page book? Could have happened in around a 100 pages maybe, but at the same time i love reading more and if you're one of those people who like reading little facts about the Morganville world then you'll probably be fine with it.

I myself did like the book was a little disapointed. It's not that NOTHING happened because there is a progression in the story but as i said... it all seemed a little anticlimatic. I read it in one sitting and i did enjoy reading the book. I can't wait to read the next one and once you've read this book if you go onto RACHEL CAINE'S WEBSITE you'll find a prolonged sneakpeek at the next book than you do in the back of this one. I think it's the first three chapters.

This book is basically a set up for the big bad BOOM that's going to happen in the next book, introducing charcters who will probably hold the solutions to the problems in the plot and come to some kind of use in the final show down.

Enjoy!

Not bad4
Ok so other reviewers have said that the book drags on a bit. that's mainly because it's a bit of a filler book, it's setting up the next book where we expect a war. the plot thickens in this book, it's no longer random vampire attacks etc, it's all linked.

With Bishop in town you expect something bad to happen straight away, instead the plot is being developed so hopefully in the next book, the big event/climax/war/whateva takes place.

The ending as usual is a cliffhanger and it is a good one! :D
