Synopsis
From the history of photography and how to shoot wedding portraits to creating stylish albums and working with digital output, everything a wedding photographer needs to know is included in this all-encompassing manual. Photographers are provided with a shooting guide that walks them through the wedding day and offers advice on a variety of topics - including integrating detail, capturing the walk down the aisle, working in and out of doors, and finding and illustrating key relationships. Traditional and in methods of wedding photography are depicted in an educational timeline that explores past, present, and future trends in the field; current photo manipulation software, such as Adobe Photoshop and compatible plug-ins, are also discussed. Emphasis is placed on client interaction both before and after the big day, transforming prints into fine arts products, and developing and fine-tuning a creative shooting style.

Inspired...
I read this book from cover to cover in 2 days. I couldn't put it down. It's way above the average wedding photography book. It's not about basic technical tips but about the passion that drives one to become a photographer. It really inspires you to, not just document the bride and groom's day, but to create art. The book is full of iconic images which will excite and inspire you. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
essential for future wedding photographers
I have read this book and am considering purchasing it, although it doesnt quite deal with the absolute basics of wedding photography which i was looking for, its a very indepth and valuble resource for anyone who is shooting a wedding, be it a complete amateur or experienced photographer.
Theres some nice photoshop techniques detailed along with a lot of practical tips, if i had to make one criticism, the first few chapters do seem a little too personal and even boastful maybe, but overall its a fantastic book. Complete newcomers to wedding photography may find a less 'artistic' book useful to back this one up.
A must have...
for anyone. Whilst the book concentrates around the form for wedding photographers, I have used this book to enhance my portrait work.
Marcus Bell writes with ease, is clear in his explanations, the images used are sublime - can you tell yet that I'm a fan of this book?!?
One thought about most books like this would be a 'How to' from start to finish. By this I mean the initial image would generally not look like the finished print that you or I see meaning most will get '...shopped'. So, personal taste aside I'm also keen to know what he did as a step by step guide to the finished print. That'll be too much to ask as it may be perceived as giving secrets away.
All in all - great book.
