Great book!
I have the 2005/2006 edition. Its really informative, starting with "Is medicine really for you", answering common questions you might have. It also tells you stuff like questions they might ask you at the interview. It also gives information on every medical school in the UK, which has stuff written by students and the entry requirements etc. I'd say this is a really useful book if you think you want to study medicine at uni. Its also written in non-boring way, I found it really interesting.
Excellent
I would strongly advise this book to any prospective medical students. It contains great information on finances, student life, admissions and all the usual things you expect in med school books. However what sets this book apart are its in depth profiles of each medical schools, covering the way they teach, their admissions process, what the placements are like, what the city is like and so on. Whilst the profiles are mostly positive they do also highlight the downsides to certain medical schools, which i found extremely useful.
When it comes to picking the four medical schools you want to apply to, beyond going to open days this book is your best bet for making the right choice.
