"The Guerilla Guide to the Music Business" is chatty and informal, and it's full of useful, hard-earned advice telling you how to get ahead in the music business. Through interviews with industry experts in the US and the UK, "The Guerilla Guide" gives priceless tips on every aspect of gigging - from rehearsals to foreign tours. It takes you through the process of recording, from home-made demos to releasing your own finished product and radio promotion. "The Guerilla Guide to the Music Business" also explains what managers, publishers, PR people, accountants, and lawyers can do for you, and when and why you will need their services. It's a book that will help you enjoy what you do, avoid too many pitfalls, and maybe even help you have a hit or two along the way.

Customer Reviews
very very useful indeed!
There are an awful lot of books I could have bought to get an over-view of the music industry and I am so glad I went for this one, as an aspiring record label 'owner' this has been really helpful in learning what i need to know - I'm sure there's a lot more to find out about specific areas but at least I know what they are now!!
Excellent - Lots of information to get you started!
This book is brilliant for all areas of the music industry! It explains about how to get gigs, what to do when youve got them, recording, producing, mangagement, record labels, agencys, contracts, everything you need to know to get one foot in the door. Jam packed with usefull information. This book was a real help to me.
USEFUL BUT BASIC
The book itself is more geared towards being in a band and how to operate under a label. It does tell you parts from the label side but it is more about how you as a band would interact within a label. All information is useful in some ways but is very basic and really does not explore into any great depth on anything of substance. If you have no knowledge at all read if you want something more bypass and go for another choice
