Do you want to expand your crochet pattern knowledge?
This is a beautifully put together guide to crochet patterns. It is well segmented into different types of crochet including Tunisian and overlaying crochet patterns. The sections are coloured even down to the patterns being crochetted in differen coloured wools.
If you are after a book that will show you a huge variety of stitch patterns then this is the book for you. For example if making a sampler blanket of different patterned squares or if you are confident to make changes to patterns or create your own designs.
It is however not a book for the beginner. Unless however you want to look at what you will be able to do int he future & scan the book for inspiration to keep you going through the learning part of crochet.
I have given it 4 out of 5 as although I love this book it is not for everyone.
Essential crochet manual !!
A must for anyone who crochets. Full of easy to understand stitch patterns. Descriptions in words with clear stitch charts and photos. Good for inspiration when designing your own patterns or making changes to existing patterns. Good for learning more stitches and techniques. (I have used some patterns to make a sampler baby blanket for practice).
NB. Does not contain patterns for items, this is a reference manual for different crochet stitches and patterns.
Disapointing
This book has a different cover to the one shown, but it does indeed have many stitches. Beware however, what most of us see as single crochets, it refers to doubles, and so on, thus making the reading of the stitches confusing. However, each stitch it does feature has a clear picture of it and a good detail on how to achieve it.
