Customer Reviews

Ideal for the average tourist5
This book is packed with solid information on all the cultural sites, well written and wonderfully illustrated. Ideal if you're looking for a good companion guide to Egypt.

Excellent guide5
We took this book and the Lonely Planet guide on our recent holiday in Egypt. The two are quite different in what they offer, and complemented each other very well.
The DK Eyewitness Travel book was brilliant in helping us to look at sights before visiting them, and in choosing exactly what we didn't want to miss in Cairo, Luxor Aswan and Abu Simbel, and then of course in reviewing and remembering afterwards...
The maps of Cairo were especially useful, as were all the extra tips and suggestions for travellers that the book contains.
Some hotel information was inevitably a little out of date (the book was revised and printed in 2007) - for example we stayed at a lovely hotel overlooking the Nile in Aswan, which was not noted in the guide (the mid-range Nile Hotel).
In all a very useful book with which to explore Egypt, as well as being a lovely souvenir of our never-to-be-forgotten holiday!

Clear, concise, colourful!4
This is a great little book, and really breaks down the main sights for you in a clear and informative manner. Not too bulky, so it's very portable, and the full-colour pictures give you a taster of what to expect from the main attractions- the 3-D cut outs are great at pointing out what you shouldn't miss, and make it that much more interesting. The Cairo section is nicely detailed, making a trip to the 'mother of cities' quite eventful, should you be pressed for time, like we were.
