Excellent card but rubbish adapter
I just got my hands in this 8GB micro sdhc card.
I am using this micro sd card using a SD adapter (normal adapter not an sdhc which came with a 2gb micro sd card that I have) with my Kodak Digital Camera V1233 and it works fine.
The card is excellent very fast and a lot of space
There are a few things to bare in mind when you buy a sdhc card.
1. It will not work in a normal memory card reader. Because the majority of the card readers are not sdhc compatible. At least my one is not.
2. The adapter that come with the card is just rubbish you have to push the micro sdhc into it so much that then is extremely hard to get it out. I could not believe how much the card has to go in, at the beginning I thought that the card was not compatible with XP or VISTA because I was not pushing the card enough and it was not recognising it.
I can not explain how come a very good company like SANDISK can do such a rubbish adapter. It would have been far better if they had a adapter that clicks in or out just by pushing the card a bit. So unless that you have long nails you will probably struggle to get the card out of the adapter.
Believe me I tried it at the office with a few colleague and we all had problems to get it out. Specailly when the last thing that you want to do if to force it or to break it.
Unfortunately because it does not work with my memory card reader I have to use the adapter or plug the camera into the PC with the card inside which is annoying and I don't think is as fast and uses the battery of my camera.
Overall the card is great but I am given it 4 stars because of the adapter.
SanDisk 8GB Card
Initially found it very difficult to establish if this card (8 GB Micro SDHC) would be compatible with a Samsung and a Blackberry phone. They have proven compatible and work very well for photo's and music. The delivery time was also excellent.
Big memory, little price
memory cards have come down in price so much in the last year, but even so, I was surprised to find Amazon selling this 8GB SDHC card for under £20 when so many other retailers had it for much more.
Anyway, brushing my scepticism aside, I purchased said card and tried it out in both my Nintendo DS (with a DS Real card) and my HTC Smartphone (the BT one that comes with BT Anywhere). I'm happy to say that it worked perfectly in both without even having to reformat.
The card I got came with a SD Adaptor only, which is fine as I have a couple of SDHC USB adaptors lying around, but I'd recommend getting one if you don't already have one, as many card readers can be funny with the new SDHC format.
So far I've tried this card and confirm it works in:
Nintendo DS with M3 DS Real and Edge cards
HTC Smartphone (BT Anywhere)
Motorola V3i Phone.
I've just ordered a Sansa Fuze MP3 player and hear that these will work in those as well.
