Product Description

The aim of this book is to provide quick and simple, yet impressive recipes for those who love to entertain but don't have much time. The book demonstrates the art of mixing quality "instant" foods such as couscous, filo pastry and ingredients from jars, with fresh natural ingredients such as poultry and seafood. The recipes intend to provide a three-course meal which takes less than two hours to prepare. Included are 50 complete dinner party menus, a variety of hints and tips, preparation order checklists, freezing and storing symbols and advice on which wine to serve with the meal. All of the menus are divided into spring, summer, autumn and winter meals, in order to make the best use of seasonal, fresh ingredients.

Customer Reviews

Makes entertaining easy for busy people4
Excellent book for those of us who have too little precious time. Each recipe that I have tried works a dream - and all are easy to prepare. Friends have been very complimentary, thinking that I've spent hours in the kitchen - so I tell them all how to "cheat" with Tessa's book. "50 More Dinners in a Dash" is also well worth having on the shelf.

Best cook book ever!5
If you want to cook well using fresh and frozen food, quickly, well presented and delicious to eat, then this is the book for you. I cannot sing its praises enough!

superb!5
I have never felt moved to write a review of a recipe book - or anything else for that matter. But this book arrived today and I postponed a game of golf to read it as I was hooked from the beginning. The key benefits are (a) it is very clearly laid out (b) no need to worry what each course will be as the work is done for you (c) handy hints are very useful and (d) there are lots of time saving 'packaged' ingredients used to cut the time down - but usefully (for myself who lives in Portugal where many of these 'timesaving' ingredients are either not available or very expensive) alternatives to make your own. The only downside is that there aren't enough pictures - those that are there are lovely but they face pages that don't have their recipes on it so a bit confusing. But I guess more photography of the standard there is would have put the cost out of most people's realms. I have never read a recipe book from cover to cover until now - and I look forward to using it for entertaining family and friends from now on ... can't wait!
