About the Author
Glen Johnson began taking pictures in sixth grade. While struggling to combine his love of travel and photography into a career as a landscape photographer, he was asked to photograph his sister′s wedding. Customer Reviews
Excellent!
The book is great it covers everything you could want to know about wedding photography. It even includes things you didn't even know you needed to know! It is the most useful book on Wedding photography I have found (and I have been through a few!). If only I had found it earlier I would be richer and wiser.
If there is any criticism at all it is that some if it is a little Americanised, but that is understandable due to the American author and since there isn't a British version I will happily live with it.
Superb wedding photography book
I am a keen hobbyist moving up to weekend wedding photography and I found this book to be superb. It is easy to read, informative, well laid out and has loads and loads of relevant information. I can't speak for professional experienced photographers but would imagine from the content that they would find this very useful too. If you are like me, a budding weekend wedding photographer, this book is absolutely superb. I have bought several books similar and found "Capture the moment" good but this is a must have. Well done Glen Johnson on a superb first book - it helped me a lot.
Covers areas not in other books
I already have many of the other wedding photography books, and after reading reviews on here decided to add this one. It is a very different kind of book than many of the others. Many of the other books concentrate quite rightly on the format of the big day and the creativity of wedding photography. This book is much more about the practicalities with useful organisational tips. Being an american book, I personally dislike much of the photography... but then in a bizarre way this book isn't really about the look of your art. It is about the things you need to consider when starting a career as a professional wedding photographer. My advice would be to look at other authors first (Cleghorn for example) and then get this one later.
