The PS2 Network Adapter offers broadband connectivity to play PS2 games online. To use the network adapter, you need an 8 MB memory card with at least 137 KB of space (to save your network configuration), and a broadband Internet connection of at least 512Kbps. Please check with your broadband service provider to ensure that your connection is compatible.
The Network Adapter connects to the expansion bay on the back on the console. It can be connected directly, via a router, or via an internet sharing connection. The PS2 network's servers are optimised for gaming and therefore standard Internet browsing is not supported. Some titles and services may require a subscription for use.

Technical Help for those that need it...
Lets start by saying this is an excellent piece of kit. I use mine with Tony Hawks 4 and to browse the Internet from my living room (more about that further down).
Here are some points for those with technical queries:
You will need one of the following:
_Option1) A PC with broadband Internet connection and a network card installed. Connect your PCs network card to the PS2 network adapter using a CROSS-OVER network cable. You will need to turn on Internet connection sharing in Windows (available in 98SE or later), or run some sort of proxy server software (for Linux etc).
_Option2) An ethernet cable/ADSL modem with an RJ45 socket built in (not USB). I have not tested this method.
_Option3) A router connected to the Internet. This is my prefered method as my three PCs and the PS2 can all connect at the same time. A 4 port router with a built in ADSL modem can be purchased for about £50 now.
I just hope more online games come out soon. There currently aren't many and they are still mostly above £25 each.
Online Gaming on the PS2 - UNBELIEVEABLE
For a long time I was hesitant about getting into on-line gaming - especially after all the reviews thrashing the games.
Finally a relation bought me the adapter as they know I had broadband.
Installation - easy - just follow the steps and warnings
Registration - moderate - found the controls a little awkward at first - had to get used to it.
Wait for Registration ID - longest ever.... 1 to 2 wks
Activation - small difficulties - it tried to reinstall when I went back in - but this may have been due to me choosing wrong option.
Do not think that once you plug this in you will be playing immediately - you have to wait for the activation number to arrive by post. But once it arrives - it is fantastic.
Gaming will never be the same again.
My first few games had me sitting in front of the TV giggling like a madman while I tried to kill as many others as possible.
Would definitely recommend this to all gamers; ignore the bad press - there are some great games out there.
Deathmatch mode has been my favourite on Call of Duty.
But I am now getting into Capture the Flag - takes a little getting used to working with other gamers but very enjoyable.
Networked PS2 gameplay - awesome
Very good product, just plug it in and watch it go. The response times are excellent and it really makes it true games console. What could be better than playing against a friend who can't see your screen and what you're up to. Much better than two-player on the same TV.
Plugged it into my ADSL router and it picked up IP address and connected immediately. Only thing I needed to do was setup incoming rules for the other console at each end and away it went. Thoroughly recommendeded addition to an already well-spec'd console.
