Manufacturer's Description
The T630 has a style and attitude of its own. Strong colours, an integrated camera and a super-clear display signal visual power. And with the T630, individuality never equals egoism: when you want to share your experiences, the T630 is your tool. The high-resolution TFT colour screen makes the T630 a visual delight. Indoors or outdoors, the colours and contrasts remain sharp, bright and clear. Great for pictures, great for gaming.

With QuickShare, sharing memorable moments with your friends becomes easier than ever before. Just snap a picture with the built-in camera and you're ready to share. Send your picture to a friend anywhere in the world - the philosophy behind QuickShare is to make sure sharing is never more than a few clicks away.

This is a phone with a distinctive camera look. The dedicated camera button is positioned to make the camera convenient to use horizontally and vertically. To make that real camera feeling even stronger, the Sony Ericsson text logo is horizontal. A smart detail is the mirror next to the lens - excellent when you want to take pictures of yourself. With its integrated camera and nifty sharing features, the T630 supplies all you need to share memorable moments. Just one click to activate the camera, another click to take a picture. That's it. Then you're ready to save your picture and send it anywhere in the world. It's easy, it's fast - and QuickShare makes it possible.

The T630's large display is a real pleasure to use. It can reproduce 65,536 colours. But, more importantly than abstract figures: this means that your images simply display better. Want to look at your pictures on your computer screen? The T630 can automatically enlarge pictures to VGA size (480 x 640 pixels). Software included in the phone recalculates the picture size - without forgoing quality.

The My Friends feature allows you to choose how to communicate with your favourite contacts - text message, picture message, email or voice. My Friends is an extract of your phonebook displayed as a graphical list of your favourite contacts. If your operator provides an Instant Messaging service, My Friends automatically expands into a full-blown Instant Messaging application that allows easy chat with friends or using a chat room. Discover mobile Instant Messaging, where you can see who's online. Both you and your friends can use pictures and text to say what you're up to. Getting in touch can be an art. Get that creativity flowing - MMS allows you to compose your messages using images, sounds and text.

Mobile gaming has never looked better than on the T630's high-quality screen. Force and sound feedback guarantee a full-throttle gaming experience. The T630 comes with a variety of embedded games, including the legendary racing game V-Rally 2. Many more are available for download. Prefer it console-style? Just clip on a Gameboard EGB-10 accessory, and enjoy two-thumb game action. Take to the high road! V-Rally, one of the most respected driving brands in the games industry today, is included in the P900. Push yourself to the limit and test your precision driving skills in the king of rally racing games.

The 32-voice polyphonic ring tones make your incoming calls sound like music to your ears. And to everyone else's. Use the ring tones that come with your phone - or just download new ones. Create your own ring tone with the built-in MusicDJ(patent applications pending) - using a library of pre-stored instruments, rhythms and melodies, it literally takes just a few minutes.

The T630 is ready to interact. Prepare yourself for a QuickShare experience. Share content with other devices, other phones and your computer - simply drag and drop pictures from your PC to your phone! Go wireless. Bluetooth lets you connect - without wires - to a headset, a laptop, a PDA or another Bluetooth phone. And if you're up for some fun, try CAR-100, the Sony Ericsson Bluetooth car. The T630 also supports connection via infrared or cable. Sony Ericsson and Apple have been working together to provide synchronisation capabilities between Apple computers and Sony Ericsson phones. Now users of Apple computers can synchronise their calendar and contact information with the T630 using iSync, Apple's free synchronisation software.

This phone looks stunning, as you can tell from the picture no doubt. It is a rejigged version of the popular t610 with an improved screen and one or two features. The menu system is possibly one of the best around allowing fast and easy access to every feature within seconds with nice themes and the option of downloading/designing (with free 3rd party software) your own. Some people have voiced a dislike for the plastic on the phone, I disagree with this as yet it does feel strange but that's most likely due to its pearl white effect (obviously on the white version, see warning at the end btw) and it is a 'nice strange'. If you are concerned about this, I would recommend having a feel of one in a local phone store first. I have had mine for about a month and a half now and it has no scratches at all so the plastics can't be that bad. The reception on UK networks appears fine and the sound quality is of a high standard during calls. The new LCD screen is a huge improvement over the t610's, which many may know was near impossible to see in bright conditions (like outside). This time, although not the best, I have yet to be in a situation where I could not read the display. The Bluetooth feature is another bonus (you can pick up a Bluetooth USB stick for your computer for less than £20) as it allows calendar synchronisation, as well as file transfers for free themes, wallpapers, screensavers ringtones and games, also useful for moving photos to your computer (also cutting down on memory consumption discussed below). Bluetooth can also be used for multiplayer games such as the excellent V-Rally 2 and Minigolf games (both included) and works brilliantly.

The downsides to the phone are as follows: the camera is not great and suffers a sight delay between the picture you see when taking and the picture that you get. Also the pictures are often a bit mushy if the phone is not held perfectly steady (disturbed by pressing the button to take it). The onboard memory is still as stingy as on the t610, weighing in at a lowly 2MB for all your pictures, games, themes, and ringtones, although deleting some of the things you never intend on using off it can help dramatically as I now have about 4 photos, 2 wallpapers, 6 screensavers and about 10 games currently on it with about 450k left. A fixable problem is that the screen struggles in the darkest (default) contrast level with blacks only noticeable on wallpapers etc where black is used among other colours, however this can be solved using the next, slightly brighter contrast level.

All in all an excellent phone as the downsides are all minor but I wanted to inform you of these in detail. I can whole heartidly recommend this phone to anyone looking for a high quality, stylish and fully featured mobile.

Warning: I originally ordered from Amazon expecting the 'frosty silver' model as shown but I was sent the liquid black model. Upon returning for an exchange after being told it would be swapped for a white one I was sent yet another black one. if ordering online remember to look at the sticker on the side of the box before breaking the seal if you are after a particular colour as it states the colour inside the box, unlike the pictures on the box only showing the white model.

    Great phone, but not excellent4
When I first saw this phone, I was very, very impressed with the overall functionality of it. The ringtones sounded fantastic, the screen was very clear, and I was very impressed with the Bluetooth and infra red. I have recentely bought a Bluetooth USB Adapter for £30 (which is available on Amazon), and now I can download midi-files from the internet and put them onto my phone, and they always sound great. The camera functionality is pretty good too, the quality is not great, but then it is only a mobile phone!

But there are a few things which do bug me with this phone. The first thing is that on a number of occasions I have missed somebody ringing me, because I cannot hear the phone ringing, even on maximum volume. Another thing is that it can't hold too many SMS texts. You can only hold about 10-15 before it says the memory is full. The battery seems to get run down quite quickly too. I think that if there is going to be an updated model of this, then Sony Ericsson really do need to improve on these things.

    Good phone, some issues3
I have been using this phone for 6 months now and have found it to be great in some ways and a pain in others.

Firstly the good- it does look nice. I dont think it feels any cheaper than a Nokia. the screen is bright and very big for the phone size. buttons are close but big- i dont have a problem with them at all. it has a lot of good features (except see below). The size is just right- small but not too small. bluetooth works well- I got a bluetooth adapter for my computer new from ebay for about £10. storage of info is OK, I have plenty of songs and games on it but do need to delete texts after I get 30 odd.

Now the bad- That DAMN joystick is a real pain. it often just wont work in a certain direction, I decide to send it back but 10 mins later its working fine, I think it must be dirt. If only I could remove the case and clean it out. Volume of ring is too low if you use a midi ringtone. Camera is pretty bad. It doesnt play MP3 ringtones. you can not send games to other peoples mobiles- i guess this is to force people to buy them - its just mean. Screen scratches quite easily- seems to be made of quite soft plastic- i guess its to stop it cracking if dropped.

Overall it is a nice phone and wont dissapoint, but the joystick is a pain.
