Very good but battery life is a drag!!4
I have used the previous incarnation of this phone (the E606) and this is a vast improvement The looks, menu and features are far superior to the old phone, but unfortunatly some of the downsides haven't been addressed. Music playing software is present and works really well, the outside camera is good and has the benefit of a light for when things are a bit dark, the inside camera is less usable due to it's lower resolution.Downloading filmclips, music or football is easy via 3's website, shame you cant visit other sites! The battery life is still poor and rather than remedy this NEC have supplied a large battery, its ugly, and heavy. Bluetooth makes it's debut here but is no use for sending business cards or pictures as it only recognises headsets! The software in the V version of this phone seems to have been sorted as crashes are very very rare, but unfortunately the 3 network is still as bad as ever. I live in a strong signal area so dont suffer the signal dropout that others have experienced, but you need to check before you buy!Overall a good phone with tons of features, but it's useability is restricted by battery life.
The 3 tariff system is very confusing and is only suitable for heavy users as they steal any remaining credit back after 30 days, so use it or lose it!!

    Great Phone, Great Price4
For what you are getting £40 is amazing, this phone does everything that you would expect a top of the range £150+ phone to do, you can take video, pictures, play music import and export pictures to computer, download ringtones etc. However there are one or two minor problems:

    1. Its pretty big, admittedly most of one side is all screen, and when its folded it easily fits in a pocket, but opened up its a little large
    2. You can't put a music track as your ringtone, a bit of a dissapointment as all the preset ringtones are terrible. I can see why they don't let you do this though, as if you can have a real song as your ringtone why would you download the special ringtone version for £2.50
    3. WARNING! The 3 network is a bit mean, it says its pay as you go, but this isn't strictly true, the smallest voucher you can buy is £15 and once activated you have to use all your credit within 30 days or it gets wiped out.

Now for this calibre of phone with £15 free calls (making the phone only £25!) I am planning to use it for 30 days then have it unlocked to use my old Virgin simcard. Now i realise this 30 day thing isn't going to be a problem for heavy users, but i don't use that much. All in all its only £40 for an awesome phone.

    Best Phone Out5
I bought the NEC e616 today at 7 O'clock. i am still playing with the phone and finding new features. what a great phone!!. £45 is what i paid for the phone with free credit. how can any one go wrong with that?? My previous phone was a sony ericsson T610 and that is C**p compared to this.

I have downloaded songs from my pc (media player) easliy using the usb cable provided in the pack and the sound quality is excellent, as is the movie quality.

You can record a little clip using your phone which only lasts 11 seconds but thats long enough isn't it?? you can also donwload movies from the internet on your phone, or from your pc via the usb cable again which last alot longer. 2 - 3 mins if not more

The phone comes with 19mb memory, which is suffiecient if you are not a heavy video/sound recorder but if thats not enough then you can even purchase a MEMORY CARD that slots into the phone so you can dowload hundreds of stuff. thats great in my eyes.

personally for £45 how the hell can any one go wrong. you pay at least £50 for a video recorder these days and £30 for a camera but with this you have alot more than just them two features. you may say 'well you can't print off pictures like a camera'. well i think you can because you can transfer files FROM your phone To your PC and vice versa therefore you can print off pictures taken by the phone off from the computer (if you have a printer)easily using the usb cable.

Its magic in my eyes and i recommend it to anyone.
