    it`s a mobile disco...4
my son was jealous of my motorola v220 because of it`s mp3 ringtones but he did`nt like flip phones so we searched for another motorola phone and came across the "e398" and now i`m jealous of his phone,it`s a nice sturdy phone with a good camera, nice big screen, easy to use and has the usual mobile phone features, but the big advantage over my phone is sound quality and memory,it has two small speakers for stereo sound, which make the ringtones a lot louder and better quality,it`s also an mp3 player and this is where the memory comes in,it has 5mb internal memory but it also comes with a tiny "trans flash" memory card of 64 mb which he has managed to cram on 17 mp3 tracks, but for £25 you can get a 256mb memory card which will hold up to 60 tracks, but you can also save pictures and video clips onto it,so you can turn it into a mini video player (video play back is quite good) the mp3 player is pretty good and it even has small multi-coloured lights at the side which flash when recieving a call or flash in time with the music, the only downside is the battery can run out pretty quick if you use the mp3 player a lot, the supplied headphones are good quality,it comes bundled with a usb cable and software,so all in all a good little phone for a nice price.

a good enough phone- but with some flaws4
when i took my E398 out of it's box i was amazed at the quality of the screen, and the little disco lights at the sides just added to my excitement, but the excitement didn't last. the charger that comes with the phone (at least with mine), is terribly unpredictable, i have to literally push it in and then balance my phone, teetering on the end of my desk, the USB connection is just the same.
as a phone goes, it does what it should do (call people, text people, ETC) but it lacks the flair that makes a phone more than "just a phone" it has some quirks, but those are short lived, and my poor E398 is now left collecting dust on my "mediocre things" shelf at home, as i bop my head to my favourite music using the sony erricson W800I.
