Worth every penny.
I knew as soon as I could afford this phone, which I purchased back in May 2005, that it would at least meet with my expectations (after a lot of research). It exceeded them.
As a business owner I was looking for something between a phone and a PDA that would allow me to send and receive emails, browse the internet (infrequently) and view the PDF's and MS Word documents that are often attached with emails that I receive from Clients. Texting is extremely easy and quick too.
The Symbian Operating System has (or had) a reasonable amount of support and developers working on compatible software which would open the phone up to more than just the pre-installed applications. Lots of phones today have similar functions but 2 years ago there wasn't as much choice.
I did consider the 9500 at the time, which had wi-fi and a built in camera - the size of it put me off (I may as well drag a laptop around with me everywhere).
The only downside with the 9300 is that you don't have wi-fi or a camera. Then again, would anyone have bought the 9500? The 9300i was halfway there, although bit too late for me to fork out another £500 for 1 additional function.
2 years later and this phone is my ever faithful companion. The only possible replacement at present is the new Nokia E90.
The best phone I've ever bought!
This phone is, quite simply, the best phone I have ever bought.
I've been using mobile phones for around seven years and have used about 10 different handsets from different manufacturers, but this one is perfect for me.
Some people make bones about it's lack of camera, but some places you go to ban camera phones for security or ethical reasons (workplaces, schools, football grounds, etc.)
I really cannot rave enough about this phone (and it looks the bee's knees too!).
One thing though, this phone is not for kids.
