    Great All-Rounder4
There is no denying that the Samsung E720 looks cool - it is one of the best looking clamshell phones on the market right now. Samsung are becoming a major player in the mobile phone market and this is another solid entry.

It is well-built, has a good quality screen and is nice and loud, call quality is generally quite clear although can sound be a little muffled at times. The phone has a built-in MP3 player, of which the sound quality is not surprisingly just about OK but no better, and it strictly only supports MP3s, no WMA tracks here.

The Megapixel camera is no better, from what I have seen so far, than the VGA cameras present in a lot of other phones. Image quality, especially indoors, is quite poor and frankly it's a disappointment. The video component, however, works very well, with lots of different quality settings you can shoot some good stuff as the phone's internal 96MB of memory can comfortably cope.

Video can be downloaded onto a PC via Bluetooth or data cable and played using a proprietary Samsung player. A quick search of the net will reveal other third party players and convertors if you wish to make an AVI or whatever from your phone video.

Recording video to send in messages is a joke - not because of the phone but due to network operator limits. Most do not allow multimedia messages of greater than 100K, and at the lowest quality setting this means you can fit in about 8 seconds or so of video. Not much!

As for the key phone features, battery life is good (and it charges quickly too), the 262K colour screen is fine, key layout is excellent and it is small and very light. Ringtones are well produced (although the included tones are generally rubbish) and there is a great calendar function, calculator, alarm clock, games and more.

Unfortunately for the E720, some of its core features are disappointing. There are no call profiles (although in fairness, changing ringtone and setting silent or vibrate on are very quick and easy to do), messaging is too fiddly and slow - especially T9 predictive text, the phonebook can be a little cumbersome and for some bizarre reason a third of the main screen is taken up by the clock and menu. But I will admit I am perhaps being a bit too picky on these points.

Overall, the E720 is a great-looking, solid phone. Don't buy this for a great camera or MP3 player, it does an acceptable but not tremendous job. It's a good all-rounder and certainly one of the better clamshell phones around at the moment.

    This is a good phone4
I have now had this phone for about a week, and must say that it is still a good buy.
It has a camera which is good enough for some nice photo's, the built in MP3 player is good and the system itself is good.

It has a little bit of an echo when you speak to someone while on the phone, but this is not as bad as it's made out to be. As mobiles never have a crisp clear sound anyway. The bluetooth connection is so easy to use, but the phone doesnt come with any software whatsoever, so this must all be downloaded and installed.
Overall a good phone for a good price.

    EXCELLENCE IN A PHONE!5
The samsung e720 is the best phone i have ever had. It is light, and basically indestructable. The first day i had it i dropped it down a bowling alley, and it was fine! I have had it for a year now, and dropped a good 20 times from more that 4 feet onto concrete, without barley a scratch.
People say that the call quality is a bit 'dodgy'! I think those people are completely wrong, and that this is probably because they are used to phones with amazing quality. I know for a fact that the phones dont vary in call quality, and that it is good.

It has amazing colour, it fits in your pocket, and music can be played on there.

If i had to suggest 1 thing to improve, i would say that the usb cord that comes with it didnt have an installation disc, because this way doesnt work. I found that to put music onto my phone, i have to use my families k800I, with a usb cord for sharing files, and bluetooth the files between them. Also it only takes MP3's, so i have to convert the music from WMA to MP3 before i can use it.

Also, if charging up, the charger says it is ready to be taken off hours before it really does. I made this mistake, and because i thought it was ready when i first got it, i took it off cgarge after 20 mins, when it needs the recommended time. DONT BE FOOLED!

Overall, i would highly recommen this phone! It is a fabulous phone, that no matter how old it is (2 years this year!), it still looks amazing. I would definately give it 10 out of 5 stars!!
