    Excellent little headset!!!5
I bought a Bluetrek G2 initially to use with my T-mobile Vario, and unfortunately I was dissappointed. For all its benefits (small, light, excellent battery), even though I can hear people very well, people on the other end say I sound as if I am speaking through a tunnel... muffled.

I was reading excellent reviews about the new Plantronics Discovery 640 and decided to give that a shot. Wow... what a difference!!!!!... The voice quality is excellent!!!! The funny thing is, people can hear me BETTER when I speak through the Plantronics than speaking without a Headset. Plus I can hear them very well, loud and clear. I actually don't even have the volume to max because it's too high...

Other benefits include the fact that it is small, I wear it without a loop around my ear, and it's only 9grams. Very concenient to just carry in your pocket. It also comes with a nice case, adapters for various phones, and even a charger on the go that uses AAA to recharge your headset.

The battery is supposedly not as good as the Bluetrek G2, but who cares? I get through a whole day (sometimes two) without issues, and I charge it at night alongside my phone. I use this headset for my phone, as well as Skype, it's so small and light you forget you are wearing it.

Only disadvantage that I've found is that the range is not as advertised. I can walk about 5m away from the phone without issues, more than that I get deterioration. Plus, if I put my phone on the "wrong" side of my body (phone on the left, headset on the right) I get static... But I can live with that, just a minor inconvenience.

So there you go. It's a bit more expensive, but you do get what you pay for. Better get the right headset first time around, rather than pay twice like I did :)

Look no further than this little wonder!5
Been in the loop about bluetooth for a long time now, and since they came out on phones and headsets, I started using them. I've been an avid Jabra user, starting with the BT 205, then the BT 250, and then wanted to upgrade to match my new phone, an O2 Xda IIs. The others that I was considering were the Jabra BT 800 and the BT 500. I finally decided on the Plantronics unit.

Got the unit in the mail, opened it up, charged it, then paired it, which only took less than a minute. I had a friend call me at work so I can test the clarity, and it was crystal, as long as you are within decent range of the phone. If you keep your phone in your pocket, make sure the headset and the phone are in the same side of your body. These are minor issues, compared to the ease of use, clarity, lightness, and overall vibe you have when you wear this headset.

I love this headset! And if you're as discerning as me with your toys, then you won't settle for anything but the best.

With the headset quality like this, there's absolutely no reason why you won't get this headset!

    Small maybe beautiful...4
Like many other reviewers here I too have had several headsets from Nokia, Motorola etc. but none have matched the 640 for in-ear comfort and general wearability. There has been no need to resort to using the earloop since it is just so light and can be worn for many hours without any discomfort whatsoever. It is simply extremely stylish, delivers high voice quality and although costs above average is still a value for money item.

Although I can sing it praises for many hours the 640 does have 3 weaknesses I have experienced.
Firstly, the charging docking unit is not the most reliable connection in the world. I am on my second 'docking' unit and experience now and again problems gaining a good charging connection that does not wobble free when moved around on the desk or in your pocket.
Secondly, now and again I receive a noticeable amount of echo through the unit. Although not at a conversation stopping level it is still distracting.
Thirdly, the battery life is only a couple of days with expected use - but with the variety of connections that are provided as standard with the unit finding a suitable area to re-charge should not be a problem.

Having said all of the above I am still delighted with the purchase and would like to have allocated 4.5 star rating since it is a product worthy of this level.
