Wow, what a great phone!
I had this phone as an upgrade on O2 in Jan 2007 and at that time it was number 2 in the O2's top five mobile phones! I have upgraded in Jan 08 to the K850i because I am a Sony Ericsson fan. This phone is great for use as a walkman with its easy set up of buttons on the front, it can play MP3's as ringtones and txt tones, has three games including tetras, 2mg pix camera which is a little outdated compared with my new 5mg pix camera but the W series are made for their walkman use and the K series are made for the best camera use. Also the phone can send voice txt, email, written txt and picture txt. I have never had a problem with any features on this phone and it is very easy to get used to. The only niggle I have with this phone is that when you slide the phone back down it does not finish a call or programme you are using YOU MUST REMEMBER TO FINISH THE CALL USING THE C OR END CALL BUTTON because the slide function does not act as cancel. A good idea but...
I have owned this model of cellphone for 10 months now. On first sight it is a nice looking phone with a large screen, it is however very large, especially when compared to it's predecessors, such as the W800i and the 810i.
The slider mechanism works smoothly and well, the large function buttons are well placed, when the slider is closed.
The keys underneath the slider are badly positioned and do not really feel to be in the right place. They are tricky to use quickly.
Features of this cell are good, the Walkman function delivers good sound quality and the provided software makes file transfer easy. (Make sure you download the software before connecting the cell to your computer)
The camera, is supposedly the same one as in previous models of this phone, I do not understand then why it is not very good quality,with no zoom function available in the higher quality settings.
The phone quality is good, with the exception of the keys, the reception is as good as you would have expected, however I have had better. The speaker phone function works well and bluetooth is easily connectible. Battery life is excellent, even when using the Walkman on loud speaker.
THE BAD POINTS
This cellphone is not well made for a long and hard life. If you want this phone, and you want to use it as a Walkman as well as a phone then you will be disappointed after a few months. While the features work well, if a little bit too Sony for my liking, the build quality of this phone is not good enough for it's use.
The bottom connector, used to link with the PC cable, charger unit and headphones, wears out, this includes the connector and also the plugs of the units.
The phone also decided to start turning the Walkman on and off, repeatedly while in my pocket. The problems did not end there, the buttons on the face of the phone stopped working, or occasionally worked of their own accord. When closing the slider, the unit powered off.


Verdict, good features, excellent battery life, good reception, annoying buttons, bad build quality.

Caveat: I expect my cell phone to work at all times and they have a hard life, if you buy this phone and treat it nicely then I'm sure that it will continue to give good service.

Top phone
Radio, 2MP camera and video. User interface a breeze. Seperate 1GB memory card which fits neatly into the phone.
Bluetooth etc so easy to use. Buy it or pay monthly ( I got it on an upgrade from Orange) and you won't be disappointed. Works all over, even here in the US where I am currently ttravelling for work.
Only bad point was the headset, but anybody would probably upgrade those anyway.
