Excellent - for certain phones...
I bought this lead so that I could backup my entire contact list onto my PC. I also had a Bluetooth PC device which for some reason failed to work correctly with my 6230i phone. Strangely, using this lead led to the same issue. Using the free Nokia software, the PC will recognise the phone and let you create contact entries on your phone via your PC. It will also let you view the phone's memory card (play videos, sounds etc) on your PC. With my 6230i however, it would not automatically synchronise my contact list from the phone to Outlook, stating that the phone 'would not respond'.
After searching the Nokia forums it seems that many 6230i phones have the same issue, but only models with a certain version of the software. Before you buy this lead, try and borrow somebody else's to ensure that your phone will work with all the features you need. Apparently you can not upgrade the phone's firmware if certain things don't work - you have to send it away at a cost. All-in-all this is a good product at a great price, but sadly it won't work straight out of the box for everyone...
do not believe everything it says
I bought this cable for my Nokia 6070 believing that the information on this Amazon site cannot be too wrong.
Well, for a start Zoodex sent me a wrong article instead of CA-53. The one I ordered could be sent only on the receipt of the wrong one with my written explanations, etc. This sort of attitude. It took a week before the cable arrived at last. However it simply did not work and my research showed that Nokia actually warned against using with model 6070 any other cable but genuine CA-42 produced by Nokia. Go to any forum and see for yourselves.
If you have Nokia 6070 do not buy CA-53, it is not going to work.
Excellent product!
I wanted the lead to connect with the computer and download images from the phone's camera and save contact details. With the driver disc supplied with the phone the product worked perfectly first time, with none of the problems described in the other reviews. At that price you can't go wrong!
