Perfect mini laptop5
This is exactly what I was looking for: a mini laptop that has a good sized screen and a useable keyboard, plus a phone. I looked at many others but I found the screens far too small and/or the keyboards too fiddly. My eyesight is not what it once was, so these are important considerations! There is nothing out there (yet) to compare with this phone in my opinion in terms of being a useable, pocketable laptop.

This is 'old' in terms of technology, so I had a bit of a struggle to get it to sync with Windows Vista and Office 2007: the XDA has Microsoft Outlook on its CD and wants to sync with that. Office 2007 doesn't have Outlook any more, but uses Windows Mail and Calendar. As it happened, I was quite happy to install Outlook on my PC (because I like it) and now I can sync perfectly well using Outlook 2003.

In comparison to other mobile phones the XDA is quite big, and after using a smaller mobile for some time, this did feel a bit 'brick' like. But it's comfortable to use and not heavy, and since my main use for it is as a mini-laptop, I'm not bothered that it's not the most sleek looking phone. I view it as a laptop with a phone facility.

It has two cameras and a video camera facility, plus a video phone option. The camera isn't too bad - adequate for snapshots - and the video is ditto.

Like all PDA smartphones, it has every facility that you would want, and it does all of them very well. Like every other Windows Mobile I've ever owned, it occasionally jams up and needs a soft re-set, but that's not a major problem.
The battery lasts well, it is easy to use and does everything a good PDA should. I like it and until there is a better PDA-mini laptop-phone on the market, I'll stick with this one.
