excellent
Brilliant phone, great price i have seen these advertised elsewhere for well over 200 pounds and these are a steal at the moment. bluetooth and every other thing you can get on a phone is there for minimal money and having a memory card included.
GREAT PHONE!!
Sony Erricson W710i - Great - For a short time.
The sony erricson w710i is a phone with lots of features and some nice little add ons like the buttons on the outside which let you change your music in your pocket. When i first bought it and it was new and shiny, it seemed perfect. I Thought I would never need to buy a phone again. However, sadly, this was not the case.
After about a months use, the rubber on the front had peeled off, the clip for holding the music player in did not hold the headphones at all any more (I have to use a rubber band now) which is very incovinent in places like trains where if the handsfree is removed, music will play loudly out of the speaker instead. It is rather embarassing having to fumble around trying to either stop the music or just make the phone be quiet.
I have also noticed the phone scratches quite easily. Low impact scraps and knocks often cause big scratches, although the screens have stayed in fairly good shape.
On the up side, the phone is very easy to use. It has a keypad with a nice feel too it and the phone itself is simple to use, yet still packing in some very good features, such as bluetooth and a generous memory card slot. I have a 2 GB card in mine at the moment and it hasn't really slowed down. The screens are bright and easy too see. The phone is also quad band, so it works pretty much anywhere with the right sim card.
The camera is ok, but not great. It makes pictures very soft, and lots of picture feedback is shown on pictures with any kind of lack of light at all. The video is ok too, not great but can record for a considerable amount of time. Ok for "Happy snapping" but not a real alternative to a digital camera with only 2 Megapixels.
I have only rated this phone as two stars because having owned it for nearly a year (Keeping it working by buying cases and accesories becasue it does still work) It has little of the functionality it had when it was new. I have gone through 5 different handsfree sets from orange, t mobile, tesco and 2 from sony themselves as well as the original, and they all either did not stay in properly or the sound went after a week or too.
So overall, if you want a phone for a month before replacing it, this phone will not dissapoint. However, if you want it for any more than that, steer well clear.
My favorite phone ever
I have had lots of Sony Ericsson phone but this is my favorite. I like a clam shell phone and it has lots of features and is dead easy to use. I have had mine for over 2 years and it is still going strong even though I have dropped it literally dozen of times on hard surfaces. The rubber has peeled off but I just stuck it back with some super glue and it is as good as new. I upgraded to another sony 580i and hate it, I stuck it in a cupboard and kept using the W710i! I like to listen to my tunes through the speaker and the sound is clear and of reasonable quality. A great little phone!
