Manufacturer's Description
The Prada phone by LG mobile phone is a collaboration between the fashion house Prada and LG Electronics. They have created a stunning slim 2-megapixel camera phone that doesn't need a keypad thanks to the wide touch-controlled screen. It's the worlds first completely touch screen mobile phone eliminating the conventional keypad making the overall user experience simple and effortless. There's music and video too along with a document viewer for business.
An extra wide LCD screen maximises the visual impact allowing the user to benefit from several key features of the phone in one view. These features include a 2-megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens video player and document viewer capacity.
The menu icons will glow while awaiting your touch to navigate through the menus and will fade away when not in use to reveal a pure and simplistic black exterior. If your fashion conscious you couldn't pick a bigger name for your mobile phone the Prada phone by LG isn't just a mobile it's style.
The worlds first completely touch-sensitive mobile phone. Be the envy of all your friends with your new Prada phone by LG. Great phone
It's very shiny, and picks up smudges quite easily. It's also incredibly thin, around 11mm. The screen works like a trackpad on a laptop, so you can only use your finger. When you make a call it switches off the touch sensitive screen, but there's a button on the side that allows you to dial numbers whilst talking (handy for phoning call centres).
Set it to the blue theme and it looks a lot like OSX, the default Prada theme is black and white, and although stylish gets boring quickly. There's also a fish and butterfly theme, where you can interact with an animated fish or butterfly by touching the screen.
Using the camera and video recorder is great fun, as the whole screen is taken up by the picture. You can save images to the SD card that comes with the phone, and then access them on your PC via a USB cable.
You can flick through listings similar to the iPhone, but it's a bit fiddly and doesn't have the rubber band effect. The MP3 player works well, but because of the lack of a headphone socket you need to use the adapter that's included in the box.
Apart from the touchscreen it doesn't have any other features that you can't find on other mobile phones, but it looks fantastic and is really fun to use.
Love it.
I got the Prada LG the day it launched in London after calling for weeks to find out when it was going to finally show up in O2 stores. The packaging is beautiful, the phone is beautiful, the quality on all calls and texts has been fantastic. I've now had it for 2 and a half months and still love it - not a single regret. Like most new phones, it is difficult to break your old habits and learn the best way to use the features; going from a traditional phone to a touch screen made this slightly more difficult. It took me about 2 weeks to adjust to hitting the right buttons when texting and the T9 dictionary needs expanding, but I love this phone. I still haven't touched the MP3 player or FM radio (I have an iPod), but the camera puts out great pictures and is very easy to use.
Pros - face it - it's beautiful. It also works as well as my previous phone (Motorola Razr).
Cons - difficult to use in bright sunshine, which is luckily not much of an issue in the UK.
I recommend this phone to any label-savvies out there. People still stop and stare every time I take it out and are constantly asking if they can play with it. I have had no trouble with battery life - I travel frequently and have never even taken the charger with me unless I was going for more than 3 nights. I have used it in Europe and in the US with no problems whatsoever. Way to go LG and thank you for giving me a fashionable AND functional phone.
Do not buy this phone!!!!!!!
I wanted a contract phone so i got the Prada phone from the orange shop, the first thing that annoyed me was that orange will not insure this phone for some unknown reason. the second was that when texting it gets stuck on the W and wont stop typing it even when you press other letters! You have to turn the phone off and start all over again! So i called orange and they replaced the phone. my new phone came the day after and it does exactly the same thing except this one won't let me store anything in the phone. I now have 6 pics and 2 songs and it says it is full even though i bougfht a 2gb memory card for the phone from the orange shop! I am really disapointed with it and am calling orangwe tomorrow to get a different phone! I had the first phone for 3 days and just got the new one this morning. Overall i am entirely disappointed with the quality of the phone and would not recomend buying the phone as it is a complete waste of time! For such a pretty phone it doesnt perform well at all and i will definatly be going back to getting a sony ericsson tomorrow!!!!
