    Big Pockets Needed4
I've recently joined Orange and received this phone with my contract, my previous phone was the clunky N95.

My work phone is a SE, so I was quite looking forward to seeing what the K850i was like. Firstly, it's larger than I thought it would be, quite chunky, and in fact feels larger than my old N95.

The screen is nice and bright and the limited touch-screen element is a nice bonus and after a while it feels very intuitive..

The buttons are a little on the small side, particularly the four navigation keys, in fact they're more like blades than keys. Now, I'm no Mr Sausage Fingers by any stretch of the imagination, but even I find it difficult to use these keys on occasions. I have found a good compromise, however, and tend to use my nail for navigating.

The camera is great, much better than Nokia's 5MP, but the video quality is still pretty shocking, but then I guess it would be on a phone.

The music player is excellent, though the headphones supplied are pretty poor, so I suggest you go out and buy yourself some more when you can.

It was supplied with a 512MB M2, which is a lot more generous than Nokia's supplied cards, but I did go and buy myself a larger card so I could store more photos and mp3s.

Overall, an impressive phone and I would certainly recommend it. Well, as long as you've got large pockets anyway.

my phone did the same about the flash, they came and exchanged the phone for a new one.

also the backlight problem, why dont you just take off automatic keypad lock then? lol

    this phone is unreal.

    Great phone....but4
I was fortunate to get this as my company mobile and so far have been quite impressed with the quality of it. The 5mp camera is very useful but does not compare favorably with standalone 5mp cameras nor those of a lesser pixel count, but there again this is in essence a phone and if picture quality is what your after look elsewhere and get a camera.
Also I realize that this is also not a walkman or one of Sony's walkman phones but please if a company wants to push this as their flagship phone then the earphones need vastly improving as they are woeful and the connector does not even allow you to use your own headphones. Thankfully I have the adapter with headphone jack from my w810i ; so the old sennheisers will still be used replacing the nasty sony ones.
The interface takes a bit of getting used to so if like me you have had sonys in the past then you'll be fine but nokia etc users will need to stretch the bounds of their intuitiveness but persevere and it will start to make some kind of sense and be worthwhile.
I strongly advise investing in a case as the handset gets fingerprint marks all over it very easily, the additional problem as I've learnt is that the lens cover that slides back is protected by a clear plastic window (what's all that about a lens cover that needs its own protection that's like a bouncer's bouncer!) and any finger marks on this make the pictures taken even worse.
I looked long and hard at the cases available and went for the body glove one. It hasn't got the belt clip on it but I wasn't concerned about this as my experience with this case on my w810i resulted in me removing this clip as it kept getting in the way when taking photos. The pictures on line do not do this case any justice as it looks awkward with a strange dog-ear effect on the top left and therefore not symmetrical but in practice its an excellent fit as the phone slides in really snugly with all buttons and ports accessible (although you do need to take the phone out of the case to change cards and battery). The added bonus of the case is that its disguises the phone quite a bit making it less like eye candy for the scum of the earth to be tempted to pinch!
In essence great phone but not a flagship one and oh yes its a bit of a brick but reassuringly so!
