Cheap but maybe not "cheerful"
Nintendo DS-LITE Replacement Battery - Double Capacity 1600mAh

I bought this battery recently, based on price and single positive review from another customer. Arrived very quickly (2days) and all appeared OK; original packaging etc. When attempting to fit the battery, two problems emerged. The minor one was that the free screwdriver was too big for the tiny screw on the DS Lite Battery cover. Fortunately, I had a small jewellers' screwdriver, but anyone relying on the supplied one may be frustrated. The second problem was that the battery wouldn't fit neatly into the space in the DS Lite, sufficiently to replace the cover. On examination, it became apparent that the battery had a pronounced seam around its narrow edge, and the label fixed to the battery was wrapped around the narrow edges. This resulted in too tight a fit. The result was that I had to scrape away the label on the narrow edges, and file down the seam, obviously avoiding touching the battery contacts. Eventually the battery fitted properly, and I replaced the cover. It seems to work OK, but it's early days so whether my daughter will get the promised performance remains to be seen. So, as usual, you get what you pay for and may have to do some DIY if you buy this item.

No Brainer
After buying an R4 for my DSlite a few weeks ago I found that the battery just couldn't keep up with my gaming needs, saw this 1600mah battery on amazon for £2.40 and thought "what the hell, even if it's crap I've only spent a couple of quid on it"

turns out it's quite decent

the 1st charge only lasted about 2 hours and I was worried but now, after a few charges battery life is averaging at around 7 hours (high brightness) where it would have been about 4-5 before... so it's worth it in my oppinion

for any enthusiastic gamer who gets frustrated when they see the red light come on in the top right corner,extending you time gameplay is answered here by this product,you get hours more enjoyment
