A Gimmick Really and Nothing More3
I got this item for the gimmick factor more than anything. I had seen the now not in production (as far as know) Japanese versions that also play video, this led me to the official Nintendo ones (which I have not used) and then to this one.

Pros: It plays WAV and MP3 it has a separate audio jack and controls so you can listen to music while playing a game.

Cons: It seems to drain power from the DS quickly (to be expected) it does not recognize folders so you just end up having to scroll through a mass of tracks, it doesn't interact with the DS in anyway, it looks a little cheap.

Not being able to visually select your tracks or use folders is very frustrating and makes this useless as a dedicated MP3 player, and only any good for someone who likes playing DS games and listing to some very well loved music in the process.

On the up side it takes the very small Micro SD cards and the newer Micro SD HC cards (up to 4GB) more than enough for most people and as long as you have some way of getting tracks onto the SD from your computer (USB adapter etc) it is easy to put tracks on.

I wish I had gone for the official version now , the only advantage this has is that it sits flush to the DS and doesn't overly stick out as the official one does, even on price after P+P there is little in it.

Just barely a mp3 for DS2
Dear all potential buyers!
Be aware that this mp3 player is no more than a 3.5mm jack headphones player. There is no interaction with the DS, apart from power consumption. Yes, it is cheap and set your expectations acordingly.

Cons:
-Didn't fit my 3.5mm headphones quite
-No folders support
-No DS navigation
Pros:
-Playback in games
-Cheap
