A bible for anyone interested in popular music5
Wow! I got this book as a present for my brother, but now I don't want to part with it. An up-to-date A-Z of every popular musician who has graced the music charts this century, it details the musical career of everybody from the most humble one-hit wonder to the biggest stadium acts. It goes through each career from it's very beginning through to the present day. As well as solid facts such as the date, title and highest position of all their records, it gives biographical information on the artistes, a description of their style, influences and live performances, and best of all, it's updated to the year 2001. If you ever wondered what became of a particular artiste, you will find out; if you want to know the background of your favourite musicians, you will learn it; if you are addicted to pop trivia, you'll gorge yourself on it; if you want to learn about groups you should know about but don't, it's your saviour. A great reference book and a very interesting read, it's one that someone will return to time after time.
