Brilliant Bonsai
Like most people my introduction to bonsai was when I was given a rather sickly looking tree in a box at Christmas. My first thought was what am I going to do with this twig.... After getting it home I decided that given the chances we could be together for a long time, I had better learn to look after my new house guest so I went out and bought a couple of books on the subject.
Bonsai basics was by far and away the best book on the subject I have come across, it ideal for any beginer, whether like me reluctant at first or someone who goes into the art totally of there on free will. After reading the book, I have managed to get my Twig ( I know now to be a Chinese Elm) to absolutely thrive.
The book is easy to follow and walks you through every step of caring for your tree or trees. I would highly recommend this bok to anyone wishing to start keeping bonsai or those who have a tree but are looking to expand their knowledge. A great book
Good book, but lacking material.
I bought the book under the impression that it would also contain information about how to cultivate seeds properly, it does not. Even though it states that it does in the title (pretty dishonest to pretend to include information that it infact does not).
If you're looking for a book that teaches you how to grow from a seed, avoid this, as it just teaches you how to take care of the tree after buying it - fully grown already.
Aside from that, its an alright book, lots of information about bonsai trees, the techniques used and stuff.
Great Buy!! Bonsai Saviour!!
I got my first bonsai, panicked, searched the web and bought this book. It had everything I needed to know, from where I should keep it to common health problems. The detail in the information is very clear and informative, and the colour pictures are great too.
I haven't had a problem with my bonsai since I bought this book. The best thing to do when buying a bonsai is getting one from a specialised supplier, that way you know you are getting quality products, and you've got years of experience to call upon if you run into problems. This book, however, is the next best thing!!
