Tough as old nails
Being a member of a Mountain Rescue team, I need a notebook that isn't going to be destroyed by wind, rain, snow, being dropped down a mountain, bogs, sheep droppings or anything else my kit goes through.

I've had one of these notebooks for 5 years now, picked it up in a local shop. It's possible the most indestructible notebook I've ever found. The cover is made of a thick, hard plastic and the pages themselves are lightly ruled on one side and blank on the other. I tend to use permanent markers or grease pencils to write on it, depending on the weather.

The book itself has been through some beatings. On top of that mentioned already, the two worst things I've found for paper of any sort is sweat and the washing machine - both of which this notebook has coped with admirably.

If you're looking for a notebook for extreme use, you've found it. The only problem I had was that I had to trim it to fit in a specific small pocket in my rucksack - but full size it fits in trouser pockets without a problem.
